Our sailing team consists of 11 amateur sailors. Each individual is passionate about the protection of human rights around the world.
Eight of them are members of the Royal Netherlands Marines Corps – Special Forces Unit – who have been on assignments during various international peace keeping operations. These missions were aimed at restoring peace and stability in areas such as Iraq, Afghanistan and Cambodia. The Marines were specifically selected for this unique team based on their skills and personalities.
Two team members are renowned human rights lawyers in the Netherlans. One of them is a Professor of International Criminal Law and one of the founding members of the International Criminal Court. They have participated in various War Crimes Tribunals over the past number of years.
